Are teens ready to manage their own health care?

Taking on more responsibility is a part of growing up. As children grow into teens and young adults, it’s important for them to build the skills they need to manage their own needs – including their health and health care.

Do teens and young adults have the skills necessary to manage their own health care? What age do parents think is the right time for their teens to switch from pediatric to adult-focused health care? We asked.
